Dr Ali Black is an internationally recognised arts-based researcher, thought leader and early childhood educator. She is an advocate for women, children, and the natural world.

Ali's research and scholarly work fosters connectedness, wellbeing and meaning-making and invites reflection and responsiveness. Ali is interested in storied and visual approaches for understanding and representing lives and experiences. Her creative research and writing recognises the power and impact of the Arts, and the value of constructing understandings collaboratively and in caring ways. 

Key areas of interest include: aesthetic inquiry; memoir; women's lived experiences; wellbeing and holistic education; listening to children; the Arts and nature.
